Associate of Arts in Leadership
The Leadership concentration in the Associate of Arts (A.A.) introduces students to the basic concepts, principles and personal skills needed by ethical leaders in twenty-first century organizations. This concentration prepares students for moving beyond entry-level organizational positions, leadership roles in their chosen careers, or for continuing toward a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and Management or other disciplines. Courses present the major styles of leadership, the functions and principles of management, group and team dynamics, the skills and behaviors needed for effective communication as a leader, and models and approaches for ethical analysis of personal and organizational decisions. Opportunities are provided for self-assessment of skills and calling as an organizational leader.
