This Graduate Certificate is closely related to the Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Business Continuity which focuses on the business side of Emergency Management. It focuses on the information systems side of emergency management. These Graduate Certificates share a common fundamental core of two courses out of four choices that span the nature of emergencies in organizations, their impact on individuals, and the information and communication systems that support emergency management. Award of the certificate requires the successful completion of 12 credits with a grade of “B” or better each of the four courses.

Graduate Certificate in Emergency Preparedness

The Certificate in Emergency Preparedness from the School of Health Sciences and Practice at New Medical College provides a integrated and multi-disciplinary approach to comprehensive emergency management and public health emergency preparedness for  acts of terrorism, disasters,and public health emergencies. Graduates obtain the skills and knowledge to be leaders in hazard and vulnerability analysis, comprehensive emergency planning and mitigation, and the conduct of integrated emergency management plans and drills for hospitals, public health organizations, fire service and law enforcement, emergency management and emergency medical services.
