Advanced Fiction Writing seeks to discover and develop students' creative writing abilities in the planning and preparing of five short stories. Both on the part of the student and the instructor, students are advised not to take it under pressure of receiving credit by a specific deadline because of the creative nature of the work in this course. The tuition for the course should not be paid and the application should not be submitted until the instructor has approved the student for enrollment. Applicants should send a sample manuscript of their work to Self-paced Courses for the instructor's consideration. An evaluation fee of $5.00 should be included. The instructor will also advise the student of the appropriate course of study based on the manuscript. Students may take this course once for academic credit. Students may enroll again on a not-for-credit basis with permission of the instructor. Meets UNC-Chapel Hill General Education Requirements. This course has no final exam.
