Provides the foundation and direction for all Professional and Technical Communication coursework. This course introduces students to the profession and the academic discipline of technical/professional communication. Modules include usability analysis; global communication; visual information; communicating with new technologies; ethics; report writing; technical writing style; and information literacy. Students begin development of the MSPTC ePortfolio. Students can apply to this sixteen week course as either matriculated or non-matriculated in the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters.
