The Associate of Arts in General Studies at Ivy Bridge College is the ideal degree program for busy adult students. This academic concentration is designed to satisfy the general education and elective requirements at colleges and universities throughout the country and around the world and to produce graduates who will continue their education at these institutions

Through the courses in this program curriculum, students will develop skills in university-level writing, speaking, reading, as well as computer literacy, having the capacity to apply analytical reasoning and library research. In addition, students will gain foundational knowledge in by completing courses in areas of knowledge skills (15 hours), humanities (18 hours), natural sciences (6 hours), social sciences (12 hours), and open electives (9 hours).

Required courses in Ivy Bridge College's Associate of Arts in General Studies degree program are:

• Knowledge Skills: Expository Research & Writing, Intro to Literature & Criticism, Visual Communication - Graphics and Presentation Strategies, Intro to Mass Communication, Intro to Information Technology, Finite Mathematics, and College Algebra

• Humanities: Comparative Cultures, Religions of the World, Art Appreciation, Survey of Music Performance/Practice, American Society OR Western Society, Any 200 English Literature Course, British Literature - Chaucer to Romantics, British Literature 2 - Romantics to WW II, American Literature Colonial to Civil War, American Literature 2 - Civil War to WW II, The Art of Reasoning OR Great Philosophers

• Natural Sciences: Applied Statistics, Earth Science, Oceanography, Environmental Science, and Survey of Health Issues
