BA in Christian Studies (Grand Canyon University) The BA in Christian Studies program offered by Grand Canyon University has been created to equip students to work in ministry while pursuing skills in communication, leadership, and organization. GCU's Department of Christian Studies Mission: - To prepare students called to ministry and Christian service; - To instruct students who wish to understand deeper the theological and philosophical implications of the Christian faith; and - To support the university's liberal arts foundation by equipping all students with a working knowledge of the Bible and the Christian worldview. The online Christian Studies program is intended to use biblical studies, theology, philosophy, and Christian history to teach students. Students in this program have the opportunity to learn how to communicate Christ to audiences. Courses are crafted to teach historical perspectives of the Old Testament and New Testament, Moses, the Prophets, and Jesus and his interpreters. They will also have a chance to discover world religions, biblical interpretation and application, the history of Christianity, contemporary theology, and many more. They will be able to apply good communication, leadership, and organizational skills, which they have acquired during the program, valuable for effective ministry. Furthering Education: Students who complete the BA in Christian Studies program may be interested in advancing their education by pursuing a master's degree in the religion field of study.
