Grand Canyon University's BA in Christian Studies - Pastoral Ministry is designed for those students who are looking for a college-level introduction to the Bible, basic Christian doctrines and theology, personal spiritual development, a concise overview of other world religions, and principles of leadership in churches and other Christian ministries. It serves as an excellent preparation for those who are interested in attending to a graduate school or seminary and becoming a church pastor or a lay leader in a local church.

The program curriculum integrates biblical studies as the foundation, and an understanding of theology, philosophy, and Christian history as the framework, for communicating Christ to various audiences. Besides spiritual formation and exegetical skills vital to Christian studies, students who complete the program will also be able to use their acquired communication, leadership, and organizational skills to be able to effectively serve the ministry.

Each course is equivalent to 4 credits for a total of 48 credits. There are also General Education courses that have to be completed prior to taking specific concentration courses. Total degree program length is 120 credits.
