Designed for students with allied health, public safety,occupational training, or trade/ technical, and two years related work experience, the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) is a career-oriented program. The BAS degree is structured on an "inverted major" concept, which builds an individually-designed bachelor degree program around the "major" the student transfers in - either from a combination of comprehensive trainings, registry/ licensure [where applicable], an A.A.S. degree or and related work experience.96.9% of our BAS graduates said the program met or exceeded their expectations! Each BAS student develops a customized degree plan appropriate to his or her future and education goals. Students receive no additional training in the major at Siena Heights University, instead they fulfill bachelor degree requirements with upper-division coursework in disciplines such as, though not limited to liberal arts, organizational theory, business, management, social science. Bachelor of Applied Science: Degree Completion (Siena Heights University) Siena Heights University's Bachelor of Applied Science is a career-oriented degree designed for professionals who have experience in allied health, public safety, technical/industrial, and/or specialized work backgrounds. The program is built on an “inverted major” principle that develops an individually-tailored educational degree program around the areas of allied health, public safety, technical, or any other occupational “major” the student have already successfully acquired. Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science degree program builds up a custom-built degree plan acceptable to his or her personal academic and professional goals. They will not receive additional training in their area of study from Siena Heights University; instead they will have to finish their bachelor degree requirements by taking upper-division courses in disciplines like, but not limited to liberal arts, organizational theory, business, management, social science, and many other course load relevant to their previously education and future goals. The BAS degree is perfect for professionals in the following areas: • Public Safety - For individuals in fields such as paramedic/ emergency medical services, fire science, hazardous materials, homeland security, corrections/ law enforcement. • Trade & Industrial - For individuals in such fields as automotive technology, architectural technology, electronic engineering technology, nuclear technology, drafting/ design, mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing electrical, or industrial technology. • Allied Health - For individuals in fields such as radiation or respiratory therapy, dental hygiene, radiologic technology, medical laboratory, nuclear medicine, massage therapy, nursing, as well as other allied health professions. • Specialized Occupational - For individuals in fields such as hospitality management, sign language interpreters, radio/ television broadcasting, CIS, or office systems administration. • Public Safety - For individuals in fields such as homeland security, fire science, hazardous materials, corrections/ law enforcement, paramedic/ emergency medical services.
