Program Emphasis

Students enrolled in this program will start their creative writing courses in their first year, contrary to some other writing programs. The Creative Writing and English is created with four creative writing workshops; they will get to select 3 genres and follow them with an advanced creative writing workshop in which they'll create a senior thesis in their chosen genre, for example fiction, poetry, nonfiction or scriptwriting.

In addition, students will also have the opportunity to be a part of the university's Creative Writing Club and the New Hampshire Writers’ Project, the one and only state-wide literary organization for writers of all levels and genres, which is situated on the university’s main Manchester campus.
