The Bachelor of Arts in General Studies is designed to meet the individual needs of the student. The development of critical thinking - the programs focus for the students - through the study of at least three different disciplines or fields of study from a broad range of interest areas including, but not limited to: Culture, Society, and the Environment; Liberal and Interpretive Arts; Information Management and Technology; and National and Local Security.This major offers students a chance to develop an appreciation and grasp of several academic disciplines. General Studies students are able to focus and build upon unique areas of study without the constraints of a regular major. Students graduating from this program are prepared for graduate studies where the focus will be narrower and apply their abilities and skills in helping professions, human resources, public policy, public relations, government related fields. The program also prepares students for entry into graduate studies. |

Bachelor of Arts in General Studies (American Public University) The Bachelor of Arts in General Studies has been made to fulfill the individual needs of the student. Students in this program focus on the development of critical thinking through the study of a minimum of 3 different academic disciplines or areas of study from a wide range of interest areas such as, but not limited to: - Information Management and Technology - Culture, Society, and the Environment - National and Local Security - Liberal and Interpretive Arts The Bachelor of Arts, Major in General Studies degree program gives students the opportunity to develop a degree program in topical areas not dealt with by other, more contemporary programs in the Arts disciplines.
