With reference to each of the respective areas of religion, graduates in this degree program will be able to: - Define the term “religion” and recognize religion’s influence in the society. - Determine and summarize the unique and universal forms of religious expression like sacred places, symbols, ethics, as well as rituals. - Discuss the thoughts that constitute a religious worldview like the creation of the world, good and evil, salvation, as well as the meaning of suffering. - Determine the various political, social, and other forms of religious life that are evident in different societies. - Synthesize knowledge of the cultural, social, scientific and religious aspects of society. - Appreciate the role that faith can play in a balanced worldview. Career Opportunities: Upon completion, graduates of American Public University's Bachelor of Arts in Religion degree program are inclined toward professions that include aspects of pastoral assistance and human services. Admission requirements: Students must have completed high school diploma or recognized equivalent such as a GED certificate or secondary school through home schooling as defined by state law. This minimum 120- to 124-credit-hour program is the standard “four-year” undergraduate degree preferred by most employers and prepares students for graduate study. Students who enroll in this bachelor's degree program must enroll in COLL100 - Foundations of Online Learning as their first course. In addition, students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 520 with TWE of 4.0 on paper-based test, 190 on computer-based test; reading - 21, writing - 23, speaking - 10, listening - 14 on internet-based test and IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0. |
