Part science, part art, Interior Design goes far beyond decorating. Interior designers have a profound impact on people's lives by creating the surroundings in which they work, play and live. You will study computer-aided design and drafting, the history of design and architecture, problem-solving, space planning, and 3-D design in the Interior Design Program. Course work also covers exhibit design, including specialty design, corporate design, hospitality design, and retail store design. In addition, through a variety of visual media, you will learn how to communicate your design solutions. |

Bachelor of Science - Interior Design Every one of us adorns the spaces we dwell in one way or another, but there's a significant gap between beautifying a room and designing interior spaces professionally. A degree in Bachelor of Science - Interior Design prepares students with skills like matching lighting and textiles, ergonomics and psychology of color, which put professional interior designers a cut above the rest. A combination of art and science, Interior Design proceeds way past decorating. Interior designers have a very deep influence on individuals lives by setting up the environment, in which they live, work and play. In the Interior Design program, you'll learn computer-aided drafting and design, 3-D design, space planning, problem-solving, as well as the history of architecture and design. Course work also includes specialty design, including hospitality design, corporate design, exhibit design, and retail store design. In addition, you'll learn the ways to convey your design solutions by using a variety of visual media. Students will learn the proper furnishings, colors and lightings for commercial, residential and even industrial buildings in classes such as: - Commercial Design I - Residential Design I - Methods of Marker Rendering - Intro to Color, Light and Textiles - Computer-Aided Drafting Graduates of the Bachelor of Science - Interior Design master skills essential to all interior designers, as well as skills which they particularly do well at. Besides using their own distinctive styles, graduate students work with skills they acquired in the Interior Design program, such as: - Coordinating components of design - Giving spatial translation to aesthetic concepts - Conceiving of novel designs - Locating and purchasing materials - Drafting designs for clients As future interior designers, students should have to learn to work with the space they're provided, which means students understand the best suited designs to match a variety of interiors, from homes to schools to commercial stores to public libraries.
