At University of New England the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership is designed for K-12 educators who are considering school administration. Teachers will be introduced to the theories and practices of successful leadership centering on the significance of decision making, team building, problem solving and strategic planning. Within these areas, focal point is placed on the legal setting and analysis skills to infer possible legal issues within the school, management and assessment of workforce, budget expansion and expenses, and organization theory particularly as it relates to adjustment. These courses are harmonized to the national standards set by the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) and offer entry-level knowledge and skills for beginning school administrators. Additional courses in Educational Leadership are available for further study. Total course hours is 15. |
