Liberty University's Doctor of Education program aims to develop competent and effective leaders with a Christian worldview who will model high academic standards and assume a leadership role in the field of education. The program provides advanced training for individuals seeking positions in higher education. You will focus on classes specializing in leadership development, educational leadership, and best practices. Specialized courses develop the skills necessary to assume a facilitating role in accomplishing the goals and objectives of an education system, whether as teacher, superintendent, principal, college instructor or another academic position requiring decision-making and strong leadership abilities. This program is approved through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Three on-campus intensives are required in addition to a final dissertation defense. As a student of this program you may choose a concentration in teaching and learning or educational leadership.
