Master of Arts in Religion - Church Ministries (Liberty University Online) The Master of Arts in Religion - Church Ministries offered by Liberty University Online is geared towards individuals who are seeking a graduate, theological education for a number of church-related ministries and personal goals, but who are not aiming for a senior pastorate position. The program is well suited as an entry level and general professional degree in religion. It has been designed to give the students in-depth analysis of the scriptures as well as the very important truths of the Christian message. Even though the program is not designed as a terminal seminary degree or created for senior pastors, it is profitable for Christian educators, assistant pastors, and for those informed lay leaders and pastors’ wives who would like to gain a solid scriptural undergirding for service in a supportive role in a local church. The 45-credit hour degree program contains a curriculum that provide students a foundation in the theological disciplines for advanced graduate study, personal theological pursuit and instruction in specialized ministries. In this program students have the opportunity to transfer up to 12 credit hours and to select from a number of classes in New or Old Testament, youth, discipleship or worship ministries, Christian leadership, missions, pastoral studies or pastoral counseling. Students who have earned a prior degree from an unaccredited institution may be considered for admission on academic probation. Students admitted on academic probation must take and pass GRST 500 introduction to graduate writing their first semester. Students should have a minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 600 paper-based test; 250 computer-based test; 100 internet-based test. |
