Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary's Master of Arts in Worship Studies with a specialization in Ethnomusicology is designed to equip worship leaders equipped to fit the needs of today's post-modern culture, to better serve the church as skilled, passionate leaders of worship. This specialized program allows students to study ethnomusicology, ethnic music, the anthropology and organology of music, as well as practice context-specific theological and biblical competencies in worship and worship theories practical to the local church. Students will receive comprehensive training in quantitative and qualitative research methods, developing expertise and knowledge to function in contexts within the evangelical community and in a variety of worship cultures. Courses are taught by today's top Christian leaders in worship music, song writing and arranging. Instructors include Todd Bell (worship pastor/producer, Prestonwood Baptist Church), Al Denson (worship leader/CCM artist/songwriter), Mark Harris (worship leader/song writer/band member of 4Him) and Rick Muchow (worship pastor, Saddleback Community Church).
