The curriculum in the Master's in Music Education program can be completed in 17 - 20 months. The final course, MU 768, Curriculum Project in Music Education, will include 7 weeks working with faculty to prepare for writing a curriculum project for use in their classroom. Students will have up to an additional 7 weeks to finish this project with guidance from an advisor. In addition to the required courses, students may need to take MU 400, Graduate Theory Review based on the results of a music theory proficiency exam. Admission Requirements: Interested applicants must have SAT and ACT scores. Two SAT Subject Tests (recommended). In addition, applicants for this program must have to submit a curriculum vitae, an audition in the applicant’s major area of performance. Applicants must schedule an audition or send an audition tape. Music Education Audition Requirements are the same as auditions for Performance applicants, Applicants to the Professional Track are not required to audition but must send a videotape of their teaching in the classroom and 2 letters of recommendation. |
