This course will increase students' appreciation for the music they already know and love through a chronological exploration of style periods in Western music. The course also gives an overview of some popular and traditional world music. Students learn to aurally recognize and comprehend the various elements of music that define genre, style, and period, and develop the vocabulary to discuss them.
