| Course Description: |
Ovid at The University of Georgia will cover the readings from the Metamorphoses and non-elegiac works of Ovid, including studies in the cultural context of Roman poetry, as well as the development of Latin poetic meter, diction, and form. Each of the twelve lessons in this course contains detailed assignments. Usually these will include background reading, often with required discussion, as well as reading, metrical scansion, translation, and discussion of the Latin text. Each lesson will also involve practice reading Latin poetry aloud. This course is 3 credits, which can be used towards a degree at the University of Georgia or at another institution that will accept transfer credits. LATN 4220 |
