This concentration focuses on information needs and knowledge management in special library, corporate, and other organizational settings. The MS in Library & Information Science program prepares tomorrow's information professionals for roles such as web developers, competitive intelligence experts, knowledge management and Internet content specialists, or digital librarians.  45 credits (15 courses) are required to obtain an MS in Library & Information Science.

This concentration is for students who wish to work in K-12 school library programs in both public and private schools.  In most instances, students will be required to complete a supervised field study to be eligible for certification. Students seeking certification elsewhere should check on requirements in their own jurisdictions. 45 credits (15 courses) are required to obtain an MS in Library & Information Science. The MS in Library & Information Science program prepares tomorrow's information professionals for roles such as web developers, knowledge management and Internet content specialists, digital librarians, or competitive intelligence experts. *NOTE: Currently, all courses in the School Library Media Concentration except the Field Study (INFO 891) are offered online.     Library Media Endorsement

    The Library Media Endorsement may be applied to a Master of Instructional Technology degree where a student needs to only take 6 additional credit hours to earn the Master's degree. This 30-credit hour endorsement focuses on developing school library educational media specialists. Students pursuing this endorsement in other states must check with their State Department of Education for certification requirements. UNK offers affordable tuition to out-of-state online students. For 2009-10, resident graduate tuition is $198.25 per credit hour; non-resident graduate online tuition is $323.75 per credit hour (fees are additional).
