This program is an innovative undergraduate degree program that will prepare you to move into the professional ranks of an organization. The training and development concentration enables students to gain a deeper understanding of adult learning, develop and facilitate training based upon target audience needs, effectively develop and conduct needs assessments, effectively evaluate programs and understand the role that technology can play in enhancing training and development. Those entering with an associate's degree or equivalent can earn their degree in about two years. Courses are offered in an accelerated, 8-week format. Students can obtain a degree in four years (less with transfer credits). A minimum of 120 credits is required for graduation.

Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Education - Global Training and Development
The coursework of Global Training and Development entails theoretical and practical information from the areas of human resources, organizational leadership, and adult education as well as a series of research courses in which strategies are reviewed, changed, and prioritized for future effectiveness. The graduates from this program are tomorrow's leaders in the field of training. The CAGS emphasizes systemic leadership and organizational capacity.
The Nebraska Safety Center at UNK offers the Driver Education Endorsement for addition to the Nebraska Teaching Certificate. This endorsement program also provides the courses necessary for non-certified teachers to be approved by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles. The nine credit hour program consists of three undergraduate courses offered for three credit hours each. This coursework can be completed online; however, observation of range and simulation, as well as demonstration of teaching proficiency, must be completed at the Nebraska Safety Center Driving Range in Kearney, Nebraska. This laboratory component can be completed in a minimum of three to five days. Students pursuing certification in other states must check with their State Department of Education for certification requirements. For Nebraska students, undergraduate tuition is $167.25 per credit hour; non-resident online students, undergraduate tuition is $258.50 per credit hour for (2009-2010 rates). Fees are additional.
Learning Methodologies and Training Technologies
This course reviews theories and develops skills for the planning, evaluation and selection of traditional and new technology-driven learning and training methods. Course participants will review relevant research and learn how to choose the most effective training methodologies, technologies and content resources appropriate to the needs of different audiences. It provides an overview of learning methodologies and training technologies, with an emphasis on emergency management. Students can apply to this sixteen week course as either matriculated or non-matriculated in the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters.
