Established in 1892 by the founder of osteopathy, A. T. Still, M.D., D.O., ATSU began as the nation's first college of osteopathic medicine and has evolved into a leading university of health sciences. Today they offer more than 20 master's degrees across allied health disciplines; doctorates in health education, physical therapy, and audiology; the doctor of dental medicine (D.M.D.); and the doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.).
Master of Science in Advanced Physician Assistant Studies (M.S.)
ATSU's Arizona School of Health Sciences offers a 40-credit-hour master's program for licensed physician assistants. A non-bachelor's degree track is available for PAs without a bachelor's degree. Graduates demonstrate competence in their respective specialty area, receiving a strong academic foundation that enhances their ability to practice in varied clinical and administrative settings. Candidates choose a concentration in either education/leadership or clinical medicine.
Master of Science in Human Movement (M.S.)
A.T. Still University offers this 42-quarter-hour, 15-course Human Movement (M.S.) program which is designed to assist students in the development of comprehensive knowledge of functional anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, human movement science, as well as functional program design, assessment, and program adherence. Graduates of the ATSU Human Movement (M.S.) program will receive the highest quality education in performance enhancement, human movement, and corrective exercise through a flexible distance education format that enables healthcare providers and those practicing human movement, fitness, and wellness to gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide leadership in advanced human movement services. ATSU has partnered with the National Academy of Sports MedicineŽ (NASMŽ) in developing the Human Movement (M.S.) program. There are three concentration areas to choose from: Exercise and Sport Psychology, Sports Conditioning, and Geriatric Exercise Science.
