The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Sustainability is designed to provide a broad understanding of environmental issues including interconnected natural and industrial ecosystems with tools to measure and understand these systems.  the values assigned by people and society to the environment and the policies and laws established to protect, manage, preserve and restore it are also covered in this certificate. Students will gain an understanding of biological organisms in ecological processes, as well as their contribution to environmental technology in practice. Courses will cover the key value of water and the chemical movements and transformations that occur as a way of understanding environmental process, their control and management. Award of the certificate requires the successful completion of 12 credits with a grade of “B” or better each of the four courses.

Environmental Policy Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program

The Environmental Policy Certificate is offered by the Department of Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. It offers an excellent opportunity to achieve advanced knowledge and professional certification in the formulation and implementation of policies that achieve sustainable operations. The Certificate in Environmental Policy introduces students to environmental issues of local, state, regional, national, and global concern. The goals of the program are to provide an understanding of the major ecological issues, to develop students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on policy analysis, and to foster the development and implementation of environmentally sound policies and practices. Principles of Turfgrass Management

Principles of Turfgrass Management at the University of Georgia will teach you about the threats to turfgrass, such as weeds and insects, and how to prevent such hazards with disease control as well as the various environmental issues impacting the turfgrass industry. It will cover the practices and systems of turfgrass; the different establishment, species selection, irrigation, mowing, fertilization and cultivation. You will learn that turfgrasses play a very important role in aiding and protecting our environment.
