BA/Social Science - Mathematics

Take a multidisciplinary approach to social sciences where different outlooks are combined and applied to real world issues. Your ability to demonstrate proficiency of subject matter across a varied range mathematics curriculum will supplement your studies in Social Science resulting in a well-rounded degree. You can transfer up to 12 approved credits of Mathematics coursework to qualify as your concentration in the Social Science degree program. You'll be glad to know that you can transfer in these approved credits no matter when you took them so the credit you've already earned will not go unused. Pre-MBA Statistics Part 1: Descriptive Statistics Course

The Pre-MBA Statistics course is on data analysis and interpretation of the results, NOT on computation and implementation of formulas. Learn how to effectively collect the data needed to answer statistical questions properly. Apply and use statistical concepts and computations in a business environment. 

Calculus for Business and Social Sciences (MATH 152)

MATH 152 is a terminal course and not adequate preparation for MATH 232. This is an introductory survey of differential and integral calculus with emphasis on techniques and applications of interest for the social sciences and business. A student cannot receive credit for this course after receiving credit for MATH 231. Students who plan to apply to UNC-Chapel Hill’s business school may have to take an OR (Operations Research) class instead of MATH 152 (these students should check with an advisor).
